Case Study

ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT & COST REDUCTION

When asked in early 2020 by a large (>400 employees) packaging manufacturer based in N. Ireland to review existing practices for Waste, Energy and Water Management including ongoing reporting and cost reduction projects, I happily accepted.

WHAT WAS THE
PROBLEM

The client wanted to improve their management, monitoring and reporting practices for Waste, Energy and Water to link into their existing Energy and Environmental Management Systems and provide reliable data to the Senior Management Teams.

HOW WE FOUND THE
SOLUTION

We reviewed the existing information working with the client to understand what information was needed and what format this would be best suited to, for regular and efficient reporting to the Senior Management Teams, as well as being integrated into the existing Management Systems.

THE SOLUTION

After working with the client to understand the information that was required and what format it was best suited too, DWC designed a PowerBI reporting function for Waste and Energy whilst also working with the client to realign old objectives and baselines and ultimately re-launch these and integrate them into the existing Environmental Management Systems.

THE BENEFITS

The client was able to improve their management, monitoring and reporting functions, which in-turn lead to direct savings from analysing the data and also lead to wider contract management and tendering projects, which also lead to direct savings and alignment to the clients wider group Sustainability Objectives for the client. This process was also rolled out to it’s sister site.
